by Allen Brettman, the Oregonian, March 25, 2014

Yakima Products, Inc., the vehicle cargo racks company based in Beaverton, has donated eight bicycle racks to the Portland Police Bureau.

The bureau plans to use the "SwingDaddy" racks to carry police bikes to community events and crowd control situations. The swing away rack that attaches to a rear hitch retails for $399.

"The Portland Police Bureau is a longtime fan of Yakima, which is a fantastic local company and community partner," said Officer Todd Engstrom, who is also a Portland Police Bureau bike and mechanic instructor.

"We are happy to support the Portland Police Bureau and its bike program," said Summer Henderson, Global Marketing Manager at Yakima.
