The Neighbourhood team will be taking part in the Bridgwater carnival procession on their bikes this weekend.

The procession starts at 7pm on Saturday 1st November at the corner of Parkway and left on to Bath Road. As well as being part of the floats, the PCSO’s on their bikes will be an addition to the officers on foot. They will provide a quick response at the carnival, particularly around any anti-social behaviour.

Inspector Andrew Pritchard said: “This is part of our new approach to policing in the town centre with a concentration on PCSO’s on their bikes.

We have bikes for all terrains with the option of using an urban or mountain bike depending on the location.

PCSO Dan Wheller said: “The bikes will help us to beat the traffic and to quickly assist with any incidents. This means we can get better coverage and are easily accessible across the carnival scene.”
