Bentonville Police Purchase E-Bike for Trail Patrol

NWA Homepage, August 25, 2017

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – The Bentonville Bike Team is working to keep up with trail traffic in the city.

The team is using an electric assist mountain bike to patrol the trails.

The bike helps officers respond to calls more quickly and efficiently.

A standard police bike and equipment runs from $1,500 to $1,700. But an e-bike costs around $2,500.

The department traded in three regular bikes for the e-bike. Police said the extra money will pay itself off in the long run.

What a great idea to add ebikes to your patrol!  I’m glad to hear that Police departments are beginning to see the value of electric bicycles for their speed and ability to cover a wider area.  Our shop has been in the process developing the ideal eBike package for police and patrols.
