MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG)- Eight new bikes are in use for the Mobile Police Department this month. The Mobile Law Enforcement Foundation donated the bicycles Wednesday to the Central Precinct with the help of downtown businesses.

The new bikes are replacing older models with a price tag of $11,400. They are equipped with new digital patrol headlights, helmets, sirens, and other necessities.

The Mayor Sandy Stimpson and Police Chief Lawrence Battiste join the law enforcement agency at the Central Precinct Wednesday morning for the donation ceremony. A joint effort by all parties to make the community safer.
