Robbinsville Police Bike Patrol to Pedal Through Neighborhoods

ROBBINSVILLE, NJ --  Robbinsville Police officers will now be pedaling through neighborhoods following the launch of the newly  formed bike patrol. The unit recently began patrols with the goal of being in every Township development throughout the spring and summer.  

Robbinsville Police Chief Chris Nitti told TAPinto Hamilton/Robbinsville that bike patrols will build upon the Department's relationships within the community and with local businesses.  

"We have taken a proactive approach in our efforts to be more approachable and engaged with members of the community and this is another piece to that puzzle," said Nitti.  "With Town Center being built out, and Town Center South currently under construction, it provides us with a perfect environment to be out on bikes patrolling the neighborhood and interacting with the public."

"The bike unit will also be encouraged to conduct business checks which will provide us an opportunity to continue to develop our relationships with our local retail shops and restaurants," added Nitti, who noted that bike patrols also could be deployed at large local events such as Community Day and the Irish Heritage Parade. 

The bike unit will include four officers --  Sergeant Peter Galazka, Patrolman Shawn Emmons, Patrolman Thomas Septak and Patrolman Michael Slinninger.
