LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Two Little Rock police officers are back in the capital city with knowledge that will save the department money.
Little Rock police officer James Phillips and Sgt. Van Watson are now certified with the International Police Mountain Bike Association.
That means they can teach other officers how to use mountain bikes, which saves the department money.
"You can relate to the community better on a more personal level, and to be able to properly ride one is very beneficial," says Officer Phillips.
The only other Arkansas department certified to do something like this is in Bentonville.
LRPD says they can also provide mountain bike training for Little Rock Fire and MEMS.
