Residents, credit union donate electric bicycle to police department

MENDOTA — A second heavy duty, off-road electric patrol bicycle was donated to the Mendota Police Department last week. Chief Greg Kellen said this completes the city’s bike patrol unit.

This bike was donated by former Mendota residents Brian Fox and Pat O’Brien, along with Financial Plus Credit Union.

The police department has not identified the donor of the first electric bicycle. Officers use the patrol bikes in the downtown area and during special events.
