Police say man ran over cop bikes

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) - Bernalillo County deputies have identified the suspect who nearly hit two deputies on bike patrol.

Now they need to find him. Deputies say they tried to talk to Henry Christopher Maez, 42, on Tuesday on Isleta Boulevard near Rio Bravo.

They say they saw a gun inside his car. That's when they say Maez sped off, running over the deputies’ bikes.

The deputies weren't hurt but one bike was destroyed, the other badly damaged.

Police say Maez has an extensive criminal history including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
