Police increase patrols at Bear Hole in West Springfield

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – West Springfield Police are resuming bicycle patrols of the ‘Bear Hole’ conservation area.
According to police, they recently purchased four new bikes for officers using ARPA funds. The Town has also committed additional funding to staff patrols through the summer. Officers can be seen in the area on most weekday afternoons and weekends.
West Springfield Police said the area typically sees an increase in visitors during the warmer months. ‘Bear Hole’ is open to the public from dawn until dusk for walking, hiking and biking.
Motorized vehicles are not allowed.
