ANN ARBOR, MI -- For the 24th year, the Huron Valley Ambulance will be on-site at the Ann Arbor Art Fair to provide emergency medical services.

The festival, which sees about 400,000 attendees, will run from Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21 and paramedics will span across 30 blocks through bike teams, a mini ambulance team and a 40-foot Mobile Operations Center.

Bike medics, which will be able to easily maneuver through crowds, will carry the same equipment found in an ambulance for immediate treatment, according to a news release. The mini ambulance team will contain medics on a Gator vehicle, which includes medical equipment and a stretcher to take patients off-site for ambulance transport.

Temperatures are expected to reach above 90 degrees during the art fair. The Huron Valley Ambulance recommends attendees take extra precautions, including wearing sunscreen, taking frequent breaks in the shade and staying hydrated. Paramedics also caution guests to be aware of heat-related illness symptoms, including: heavy sweating, muscle pain or spasms, dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting.

If anyone is experiencing symptoms, Huron Valley Ambulance recommends helping move the individual into a cool environment and calling 911.
