Oglesby Brings Back Bike Patrol

If you're making your way through Oglesby and you see a police officer on a bicycle, you're not seeing things. It's the return of that city's bike patrol.

According to a post on the police department's Facebook page, Officer Wes Budach has completed the training necessary to be a two-wheeled cop. The department says bike patrols help to quickly respond to law-enforcement and medical needs. And, on those occasions when things get a bit crowded in Oglesby, Budach will be able to maneuver more nimbly than an officer in a squad car, and more quickly than an officer on foot.

The last time Oglesby had a bike patrol was back in 2001.
