It took a great deal of energy, but Caledon police officers on bikes pulled over a driver in a truck in the Southfields community on June 26.
"In this particular case, it took the driver 300 m to realize that he was being pulled over by an officer," said Const. Iryna Nebogatova with Caledon OPP.
At the time, the officers were conducting regular bike patrols in the area.
"It takes a lot of energy out of you, especially while wearing all that gear in such hot weather, that’s why it’s so important to be fit on this job," said Nebogatova.
Community Response Officers officers use bikes for community events, traffic enforcement, canvassing, directed patrols in parks and on the roadways throughout Caledon.
The driver of the truck was charged with not wearing a seatbelt and a document offence.
