An Oakville woman in a Chevrolet Cruze was stopped by a Halton Regional Police officer on a bike after she was allegedly "making duck lips" and taking selfies while driving.
The stop came on Trafalgar Road near Oakville Place mall, Const. Marc Taraso tweeted on Sunday, May 19.
" Eleven years ago when I started, I could have never predicted that there would come a day when I would write 'driver was making duck lips while taking selfies behind the steering wheel, while on Trafalgar Road’ in my ticket notes," he said. "Today was the day it happened."
Taraso said the driver's actions created a "dangerous situation" for herself and other motorists on the road.
The woman was charged with distracted driving, a charge which carried a $615 fine, three demerit points and a three-day driver's licence suspension.
