BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Police say two Buffalo police officers have been hospitalized after being struck by a man driving erratically on an ATV.
Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo tells WIVB-TV the officers were on bike patrol for the Juneteenth Festival around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when they tried to stop an ATV driver and were run over. One of the officers was even dragged several feet.
The officers were taken to the Erie County Medical Center where both were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the 40-year-old driver of the ATV is in custody and faces several charges, including reckless endangerment and assault on a police officer.
