Event Description:

Protect your beat!  This course is designed for non-law enforcement security personnel who patrol a wide array of facilities.  It produces confident, competent, and effective personnel who operate in a safe manner and reduce departmental liability.  Learn how to ride like a pro, avoid crashes, and safely and effective patrol all corners of your beat.  Course includes night operations, scenarios, basic maintenance, and on-the road repairs.  Off-road riding and bike-specific live-fire exercises may be added at the instructor’s discretion.

Prerequisites:  Non-law enforcement patrol officer (security, code enforcement, Explorer, etc.); basic bicycle-handling skills; good physical condition

Testing Procedure: Written and practical

Certification: IPMBA Security Cyclist Certification is available to qualified patrol personnel who successfully complete the practical test, earn a score of 76% or better on the written test, become members of IPMBA, and submit applications for certification accompanied by the appropriate fee.

The Fort Worth Cultural District, the Stockyards area and Tarrant County College are just minutes away.  Also nearby are the Fort Worth Zoo, Bass Hall, Fort Worth Museum of Science & History, the Federal Building, and the Botanical Garden. The world-famous Texas Motor Speedway, which features NASCAR and IRL races, is an easy 20-minute drive, as is AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

On-site dining options include Starbucks, the Skylight Court Bar, the Cafe Texas, and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.  Wi-Fi is free in guest rooms and public areas.  There is no self-parking; valet parking is $30/$45 (oversized vehicles) per day.  Daily (commuter) parking is $20 per day.  Rates do not include taxes.  There is no airport shuttle service, but the TRE links DWF Airport to downtown Fort Worth.  The host agency will provide transportation from DFW to the Hilton and back to those who pre-register by completing the airport shuttle request form
